Interesting themes and concepts are covered at Prahalath Vidhyalaya Play School in Velachery which make learning a unique, fun experience for the children. All events and festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm all through the year. Life skills are a part of the "Curriculum" of learning experiences offered within a classroom setting at Prahalath Vidhyalaya Play School in Velachery. The child learns to become a productive group member, solve problems, remember rules, and develop an understanding of cause/effect.

Age Group : 1.5 yrs - 2.5 yrs
Timings : 9:30 am - 12:30 noon (3 hrs per day)
Monday - Friday

Between 1yr to 6 yrs. of age, small children are curious and generally love to explore the world around them. They can assimilate information rapidly and express interest and wonder in each new discovery. A toddler is constantly learning how to do new things.

At Prahalath Vidhyalaya Play School, the play group curriculum makes the children independent through 'hands on' learning. They are encouraged to explore their immediate environment and also get to know themselves better. They have a free hand at the different learning stations in the secure class room environment. Group play provides opportunities for developing social skills and building confidence in children.

At Prahalath Vidhyalaya Play School, Nursery curriculum sets the pace for active learning through various fun filled activities. Children are introduced to varied learning materials, a large number of shapes and colours as well as letters and numbers and are also exposed to a higher level of rhymes and rhythm and storytelling. They also enjoy a sense of independence through self-help tasks. Activity based learning ensures happy bunch of children looking forward to each new day at the school. Children learn to freely explore, discover and experience a wide range of sensory, creative and physical experiences while learning the importance of focussing on a single task.

Coming to PP1, our children expand their knowledge from the realms of school to the neighbourhood and beyond. They are inquisitive, seeking answers, interacting with other children and also adults. They are learning to read, write and converse in English, move beyond the mundane shapes and colours, are agile and sporty. They are creative in thinking, speaking and can make up stories in a jiffy. The age appropriate, progressive learning activities appeal to the children and parents alike. And the transition from a preschooler to a kindergartner is complete!!

The highly motivated children of PP2 at Prahalath Vidhyalaya Play School are so well equipped to face the challenges of formal schooling system. They are confident individuals, good at communicating thoughts and ideas and willing learners. They pick up the 3 R's (Reading, wRiting and aRithmatic) well. They are able to differentiate between a safe and unsafe environment and practice healthy habits. The preschool journey ends and the children are ready for the rigours of formal schooling.
